A one-day workshop on Neurofeedback Therapy was conducted on the 27th of February by the Dept. of Neurology at SSSIHMS, Whitefield.

Neurofeedback/Biofeedback refers to a collection of techniques based on self-regulation which can be utilized to train the brain and helpimprove its function.  These techniques can aid in helping an individual manage stress levels and have been proven to be useful adjunct therapies for a myriad of clinical conditions.

The primary objective of the workshop was to provide participants with abasic theoretical background of Biofeedback and Neurofeedback therapy, additionally they had hands-on experience with Biofeedback devices and software.

Sessions in the workshop covered topics ranging from basic concepts of Neurofeedback/Biofeedback to different clinical applications. The sessions were interactive and provided the participants with good insight to this promising and emerging field.

The workshop had a good attendance of 120 participants from a heterogeneous group of doctors, psychologists, nurses, healing-practitioners, IT professionals and others.

Faculty for the workshop were: Dr Joshy E.V. (Sr. Consultant & HOD Neurology SSSIHMS), Dr. JamunaRajan, (Additional Professor, Department Of Clinical Neuropsychology NIMHANS), Dr K. Jayashankar Reddy (Associate professor, Department of Psychology, Christ University) and DrDivyaSadana (Clinical Psychologist, NIMHANS).

The event received commendable feedback from participants with requests for future workshops; appreciation for the knowledge imparted and immense gratitude for the opportunity to experience the wonder that is SSSIHMS, Whitefield.

Bio-feedback is a Consciousness-based therapy which works by expanding awareness of the patients. Thus this endeavor fulfilled on our founder Sathya Sai Baba’s intention. We look forward to starting this modality at SSSIHMS, Whitefield.
