Specialist Care, Close to Home
Remote post-operative follow-up consultations in Cardiology and Neurosurgery, through nodal centres in Bhubaneswar, Odisha and Barrackpore, West Bengal — so that patients can receive medical advice without travelling to the hospital.
How It Works
- The patient books an appointment at the nodal centre and arrives on the scheduled day.
- A local physician screens and examines the patient, and the findings are recorded in the centre’s software.
- A specialist at SSSIHMS consults by secure video conference; the advice is documented and synced to the hospital information system.
- The patient receives a printed summary of the consultation before leaving the centre.
Why It Matters
- Avoids long-distance travel to the hospital
- Reduces patients’ anxiety and stress
- Lets concerns be addressed locally
- Saves significant travel-related expenses
- Speeds up access to follow-up care
