Dear Doctor,
With pleasure we inform you about the upcoming CME in Clinical Cardiology – “SPEED” – Sathya Sai Preparatory course for Exam – going DM/DNB students – the clinical teaching program being conducted at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Whitefield, Bengaluru on 15th & 16th February 2020. SPEED blazes forward to its seventh year in this edition, owing solely to the enthusiastic participation and encouragement from students and Faculty alike.
The fulcrum of SPEED has always been the idea of simulating the “pressure-cooker” exam atmosphere in DNB/DM exams in the most authentic way possible “…. to crack you here, to help you crack exams eventually there”
Our “PURE CLINICAL” format (reinforced by feedback received over the past years) comprising of clinical case presentations, case history analysis, imaging and hemodynamic data interpretation and interesting echocardiographic case studies is a step away from other such clinical programs – It has been and continues to be both innovative and result-oriented – keeping the number of didactic lectures to the minimum and allowing for discussion of clinical cases with master-teachers to the maximum, simply because Experience is priceless.
Postgraduate students pursuing cardiac surgery and cardiac anesthesia, and pediatric cardiology fellows, keen to hone their clinical skillset, are also welcome to immerse in this nectar of teaching and learning. The KMC has always been supportive towards us by giving the program its due credit points.
All of us in clinical practice realize that Life is nothing short of a battlefield out there, and there are many uncharted territories still for which there are no clear answers; yet “mortalities” should remain to a minimum. We will continue with CROSS FIRE (long case) and POINT BLANK (short case) sessions, followed by the much-appreciated FIRE POWER (BENCH to BEDSIDE) clinically oriented discussion session and culminate with the MASTER CLASS (discussing face-to-face with the examiners) and NEW-CLEUS (a short lecture on recent advances, trials etc – a favorite with most students).
In keeping with principles of our beloved Founder Bhagwan Baba, there is no registration fee for the program. Travel and accommodation will have to be arranged by the delegates.
