- H.E.L.P. Sustainability Excellence Award 2026 — Waste Reduction & Recycling. Conferred at the H.E.L.P. Conference hosted by Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad. H.E.L.P. (Healthcare Environment Leadership Platform) is an initiative of the Public Health Foundation of India and Health Care Without Harm.
- Our “Zero-Waste Culture” initiative was selected among the top ten case studies of sustainable healthcare practice in India.
- Recognition of Best Practice in the Sustainability category at CAHOCON, April 2025.
- Appreciation from the Centre for Science & Environment as a Changemaker in building a sustainable environment, January 2024.
- First Prize to the SSSIHMS College of Nursing for leadership in Zero Waste & Circularity, February 2026.

Waste management
All waste generated in the Hospital is segregated at source. Wet waste is composted on campus, dry waste is recycled and bio-medical waste is treated by an authorised facility — work recognised with the H.E.L.P. Sustainability Excellence Award 2026.

Due to ongoing Bangalore Metro work in front of hospital 108 trees were transplanted into our campus.

5,500 fluorescent tubes replaced with LED lights, 550 ceiling fans replaced with energy-efficient BLDC fans, and a new VFD-controlled chiller for hospital cooling.

Our first 100 KVA solar plant was commissioned in 2017. Capacity has since grown to 280 kW, generating 3,16,831 kWh in 2025.

A rainwater harvesting lake, an HVAC rainwater tank and 120 percolation wells capture rain and recharge groundwater.
Rain Water Harvesting →Water treatment to maximize water usage
Hospital is one of the first in Bangalore city to have its own water treatment plant several years before it became mandatory. Fresh water is used for drinking, bathing and in wash basins. Then this water goes to sullage treatment plant and is recycled in sewage treatment plant for use in flushing tanks. Then this water is again recycled for use in the gardens. Smart metering and 1,648 tap aerators have cut average monthly water use by 17.98%.
